Advocates to Promote Education Health and Sustainable Development
Our Program Areas

Community Education
In some parts of Cameroon, it is still believed that a woman’s place is in the kitchen, while the male child needs to go to school. This is unfair and unacceptable. As it is commonly said, a journey of a thousand miles begins with a step; the baby steps we make together to eradicate this injustice towards the girl child in particular, and the entire community in general is one of the reasons why this association came into existence. We are here to make sure that every child in the Cameroonian community is given equal opportunity to education, especially in the interior parts of Cameroon where some archaic traditions are still unreceptive to any form of civilization.

Gender Equity
Nowadays, segregation in any domain of life, be it hygiene, education or professionalism is uncalled for and discouraged. Gender equity is one of the ways to make the society a better place. We are out to see that women are not treated as sub-humans or forced into unwanted marriages and child bearing, or even worse, asked to stay at home while the male child goes to school. This is a practice that is still very common in some parts of Cameroon. We fight for equal places in the society for all, with everyone’s rights being respected.

Youth Engagement in Nation Building
Encouraging youths to be self-confident and believe in themselves in order to bring them closer to leadership engagement. This would make them more responsible, thereby reducing the rate of vandalism in our communities and encouraging nation building, in a bit to get the youths into expressing their leadership skills to bring positive change..

Economic Empowerment
It is commonly said that instead of giving someone fish, teach him how to fish. If we empower our women and youths economically, we stand a better chance of fighting social ills such as poverty, hunger, forced marriages and conflict. They will have a sustainable source of income, and this will help put an end to idleness and high crime wave in our communities, for an idle mind, they say, is the devil’s workshop. We use strategies such as capacity building, advocacy and trainings to achieve this goal.

Peace Building
Cameroon has been faced with a number of conflicts in different parts of the country for so many years now: we have the Boko Haram terrorist invasion in the Northern part of Cameroon: and the Anglophone Crisis in the North West and South West regions .These situations of conflict in Cameroon, amongst other minor conflicts, which have lasted for several years already, have led many youths into violence, loss of lives and Internally displaced persons (IDPs), many youths dropping out of school and turning into baby soldiers. Hence, the need to create an atmosphere where peace is possible. Training these youth in peace building is very essential for a more stable Cameroon, especially given the nature of the country as of now.

Environmental Protection
APEHSD aims at incorporating environmental protection and sustainable agriculture into its activities to promote ecological stewardship and food security. By focusing on conservation practices, biodiversity preservation, and promoting sustainable farming techniques, we strive to enhance environmental resilience, mitigate climate change impacts, and empower communities with the knowledge and skills needed for sustainable land management practices that ensure long-term agricultural productivity and environmental sustainability. The intended impacts are: empowerment, community development, sustainable agriculture practices, environmental conservation, and economic opportunities for women, girls, and youths in Cameroon.
