About APEHSD
Advocates to Promote Education Health and Sustainable Development (APEHSD) is an association, which has as mission to promote quality community lives by supporting initiatives that promote quality education, peace building, youth engagement and gender equity in Cameroon.
We have respect for everyone, without any form of segregation, be in terms of race, color, sex, religion, tribe etc., we all possess equal rights. APEHSD is made up of young women and men from diverse fields of life who have the desire to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Cameroon.
We identified some societal problems such as conflicts, internally displaced persons and trauma due to insecurity, gender inequality, gender based violence, poverty and hunger, unemployment, non-involvement of youths in leadership, constant felling of trees without replacement, just to mention a few.
So we thought of dwelling on the following Sustainable Development Goals, particularly: SDG1, SDG3, SDG4, SDG5, and SDG16 which are our mandate, thus bringing possible solutions to all the above mentioned problems through:
Peace building, conflict prevention/resolution, reintegration of victims of conflict and IDPs.
Promote gender equity and justice for women and girls, the elderly and all vulnerable populations in Cameroon.
Youth engagement in national development, leadership and livelihood development.
Quality education, especially in interior communities highly affected by conflict.

What we Do
Word from the Executive Director
Every great institution is one which is purpose driven. Our purpose is what accounts for our existence in the first place; and it is also what defines us, what motivates us, and what gives meaning to our work. In APEHSD, we endeavour to make a positive impact in the world through our little contribution in making the lives of young girls, youths and the vulnerable population better.
We are committed to achieving our goals through capacity building programs, sensitization and outreach programs, especially in remote areas where access to information is difficult. It sometimes requires us to think big, to take risks, and to push ourselves outside of our comfort zones. It requires us to be resilient when faced with setbacks and to learn from our failures as much as our successes.
Most importantly, it requires us to work together as a team. Although we are a new organization and have difficulties funding most of our activities, we are working together with the community to gain visibility and sponsorship for the many projects we have to bring assistance to the vulnerable population in the remote areas of our country and particularly the Eastern region of Cameroon where we are located.
However, our programs are not limited to the East region. We work with women, girls, youths and the vulnerable population at large all over the Cameroonian territory.
