Child labour is a persistent challenge in many communities, where children are engaged in hazardous work or excessive household duties instead of attending school. Poverty, cultural norms, and lack of awareness often cause parents to rely on children for labour, unaware of the long-term negative consequences on the child’s future.

This activity was coined from the backdrop of environmental degradation, deforestation, and climate change which are major challenges affecting communities in Cameroon today. Rapid urbanization, farming practices, and increasing demand for firewood have resulted in reduced forest cover and loss of biodiversity. This situation contributes to soil erosion, water scarcity, poor air quality, and higher temperatures.
